Dr. Ewa Pietrysiak is a food scientist and the Director of Marketing & Innovation at USA Pulses. She holds a Ph.D. in Food Science from Washington State University, where her research focused on plant proteins, ingredient functionality, food safety, and product development.

Before joining USA Pulses, Dr. Pietrysiak served as a postdoctoral researcher at Washington State University and later as a food scientist at Benson Hill. During her postdoctoral work, she published peer-reviewed research, developed technical resources, delivered presentations at national and international events, and secured competitive funding for innovation-focused projects. At Benson Hill, she led a team focused on protein functionality testing, oversaw ingredient evaluation, and contributed to product development initiatives supporting sustainable food innovation.

In her current role, Dr. Pietrysiak promotes pulses both domestically and internationally, emphasizing their nutritional benefits and value-added potential. She oversees a broad portfolio of programs, including trade missions, technical training workshops, marketing campaigns, and collaborations with universities, industry partners, and federal agencies.
