Graham Markham

Chief Development Officer, New Protein International

Graham Markham is Chief Development Officer of New Protein International (NPI). He holds CPA and CFA designations, and MBA from London Business School. He leads the financing, strategic partnerships and commercialization planning for NPI’s planned commercial-scale soy protein isolate facility, located on the Ontario-Michigan border. The project will deploy NPI’s proprietary hexane-free technology to transform non-GMO soybeans into high-functionality protein ingredients for North American and international food manufacturers.

Graham works across the food, agriculture, finance and public sectors to bring this major project to market, collaborating with customers, investors, lenders, governments, Indigenous partners, technology vendors, engineers and construction partners. His work is focused on converting Canadian agricultural resources and intellectual property into globally competitive food ingredients, strengthening North American supply chains and demonstrating that more sustainable protein manufacturing can also be commercially compelling.

Before joining NPI, Graham held senior strategy, innovation and corporate development roles at global food, agriculture and natural-resources companies. Over a career spanning two decades, he has evaluated and executed major investments, transactions and growth strategies across global food and agriculture, natural resources and large-scale industrial projects.

Since 2024, Graham has served on the Board of Directors of Protein Industries Canada.
