Sanah Baig joined the nonprofit Plant Based Foods Institute (PBFI) as its Executive Director in June 2025. Sanah brings extensive experience in food and agricultural policy, most recently serving as the Senior Policy Advisor for Agriculture and Nutrition at the White House and as the U.S. Deputy Under Secretary of Agriculture for Research, Education, and Economics (USDA's science and research enterprise). Prior to her appointment to these roles by President Biden, she also served for 6 years at USDA under the Obama Administration in a variety of roles and for 3 years as Chief of Staff of the Good Food Institute. Sanah is a founding board member of Food Policy Pathways and serves on the advisory board of Plant Futures, both nonprofits focused on developing the next generation of food leaders.
